Tickets On Sale Tonight at 18:00 for ‘Little Owl Estates’

After a trilogy of Fresher-only tastings, we are delighted to welcome back our beloved Bacchus veterans for our first producer-led tasting of term!

Greece can lay claim to one of the longest-standing winemaking traditions in the world, a culture stretching back thousands of years to the legendary epics of Homer. Yet for much of the modern era, its wines have been little known beyond its borders, and poets such as Pindar and Hesiod, who once sang wine's praises, would surely lament how readily the modern drinker has turned up their nose at it. In the last decade, however, Greek wine has enjoyed quite the renaissance. A new wave of bold, disruptive winemakers is transforming the Hellenic wine landscape, and Greece has quickly come to be regarded as one of the most exciting wine regions in the world.

Among the most promising of these newcomers is Little Owl, created by Elliott Vavitsas with the aim of making Greek wine more accessible to UK drinkers. Launched only this year, its Assyrtiko and Agiorgitiko have already been awarded Double Gold, with the Assyrtiko named Wine of the Year for Greece.

For this week's tasting, we are delighted to welcome Elliott Vavitsas himself, who will guide us through his Little Owl wines alongside a range of wines from other leading Greek producers, taking us on a tour of Greece from the mountains of the north to the islands of the Aegean.

We look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible!
