Tickets On Sale Tonight at 18:00 for ‘Más Que Rioja’
After a brilliant run of producer-led events, the committee is delighted to take back the reins this Monday for a grand tour through the wonderful world of Spanish wine. The weather might not be improving, but the Monday night energy in Oxford certainly is, as friends finally emerge from the abyss of exams and the bliss of Week 9 bliss beckons.
As many of you know, it reliably takes our Vice-President, Max, a mere five minutes after meeting someone to bring up his gap year in South America. Having retraced his steps during his South American tasting last summer, Max is now shaking things up by showcasing Spain, a country with a rich viticultural history and remarkable diversity of styles.
Have we long overlooked the Spanish wine scene? How do its vintages hold up against those of its famous neighbours? Did Max return from his travels a newly discovered man? Join us on Monday as we journey across all four corners of the country and attempt to answer these questions.

Please arrive outside the venue for 18:55 so that we may start the tasting promptly at 19:00. Any arrivals later than 19:10 forfeit their ticket, and will not be admitted.
Location: Vincent’s Club,1A King Edward St, Oxford OX1 4HS
(Dress code required for entry - please see below)
Tickets on sale at 18:00 today, Friday 5th June 2026.
All tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
Maximum 2 tickets per person.
NOTE: If you are unable to come, please contact us via email president@ouws.co.uk or via direct message on our Instagram @oxford_uni_wine by at least 12:00 so that your ticket can be redistributed.
Gentlemen are required to wear:
A tie and fully button-fronted shirt, fastened at the collar.
Ladies are required to wear:
Any of the following equivalent smart dress: Blouse and smart trousers/skirts, shirts, dresses or formal jumpsuits.
The following items are forbidden:
Denim, sweatpants, cargo pants, sports apparel, and trainers.
Admission conditional on adherence at request of our venue.
