With history dating back to the 17th century, Klein Constantia is one of South Africa’s most historic and celebrated wineries. Boasting wines that were once revered by the likes of Napoleon, Charles Dickens, Jane Austen and George Washington, recent decades have seen the winery reclaim its elite status - successfully securing a ranking amongst the World’s Best Vineyards for 5 consecutive years.
This much-warranted esteem is rooted in an unwavering commitment to quality over quantity, a strong emphasis on genuine innovation, and a deep respect for the land; uniting an unparalleled terroir with expert winemaking knowledge. Together, these have produced a wide range of wines hailed as some of the greatest in the country, and, of course, the venerated Vin de Constance: Klein Constantia’s historical sweet wine, extolled as one of the greatest of all time.
For this week’s tasting, we are thrilled to welcome Ms. Clara Schnitzler to guide us through some more of the history, and the wines of this famed estate. We look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible!
