Hilary Term Dinner, Barton Family Wines x Bacchus (FIRST RELEASE)
UNDERGRADUATE RELEASE
*Maximum 2 Tickets Per Person*
Since their arrival in France in 1722, the Barton family have been an enduring presence in Bordeaux. For over three centuries, they have worked with a steadfast respect for local tradition, crafting wines defined by elegance, structure, and remarkable longevity. Few families in the Médoc can claim such continuity.
Today, Barton Family Wines encompasses the celebrated Château Léoville Barton (2ème Grand Cru Classé) and Château Langoa Barton (3éme Grand Cru Classé), both in Saint-Julien, alongside the more recently acquired Château Mauvesin Barton in Moulis-en-Médoc - an estate dating back to 1457. Still family-owned and managed, the estates remain guided by a philosophy of precision in the vineyard and restraint in the cellar, allowing the gravelly terroir of the Left Bank to speak with clarity and finesse.
Château Léoville Barton is renowned for its depth, structure, and extraordinary capacity for ageing; a quintessential Saint-Julien combining power with poise. Château Langoa Barton offers a beautifully balanced expression of the appellation, marked by refinement and classical proportion. Château Mauvesin Barton combines this refinement that is trademark of the Barton family with the delicacy and freshness of the fruit of the Moulis terroir. Across the portfolio, the hallmark is unmistakable: purity of fruit, architectural balance, and what the family aptly calls an ‘elegance of the heart’.
On Monday 10th March, we invite you to join us at the stunning location of the Cherwell Boathouse, where we are incredibly fortunate to be joined by Mr. Damien Barton, who will be delving into the history and philosophy of his family’s wineries. The evening will see us guided through a selection of exceptional wines from the estates, paired alongside a carefully curated six-course menu. We very much hope you can join us for this evening of exceptional claret, fantastic food, and fine company - certain to be a highlight of the Bacchus calendar.
