M. Chapoutier x Bacchus Dinner, Michaelmas Term (SECOND RELEASE)
*Maximum 2 Tickets Per Person*
With roots dating back to 1808, M. Chapoutier is one of the Rhône Valley’s oldest producers. Yet it was the arrival of Michel Chapoutier in 1990, with his unique, unconventional, curious approach, that elevated the winery to the quality which we recognise it for presently. Today, the winery is entirely committed to a foundational philosophy of respect; for the terroir, the earth, the plant, the people and the consumer. This, combined with a boldness to embrace new horizons and forge their own path has vastly distinguished M. Chapoutier in the wine world.
These qualities are evidenced by their devotion to biodynamic practices, championing a deep connection to the earth, on a quest to ‘reveal the truth of the terroirs’. No chemical pesticides or herbicides; feeding the soil with organic matter; working in harmony with the cycles of the Earth, sun and moon. This stance is indisputably one of disruption, particularly from such a position where adhesion to tradition is rarely transgressed with such audacity. But the results speak for themselves - the superior quality of M. Chapoutier’s wines have put them firmly on the wine world map.
On Thursday 20th November, we are delighted to welcome Mr. Alexander McNair, who will be presenting us with a stellar range of M. Chapoutier wines to accompany a delicious six course menu courtesy of Cherwell Boathouse.
We cannot wait to see as many of you as possible there.
Date: Thursday 20th November, 2025
Location: Cherwell Boathouse, OX2 6ST
Timings: Arrival at 19:30
Dress: Black Tie
Postprandial: To be announced at the dinner.
